Für sein neues Quartett the ocean within us hat der deutsch-französische Kontrabassist Pascal Niggenkemper auf Groove, Rhythmus mit freien Passagen in prägnanten Strukturen und Freiheit im Spiel gesetzt. Er kann in seiner Band auf seinen langjährigen Partner, den großen Drummer Gerald Cleaver, die hochkreative Keyboarderin Liz Kosack, sowie den aufsteigenden Stern des heutigen Jazz die französische Saxophonistin Sakina Abdou vertrauen.

For his new quartet the ocean within us, German-French double bassist Pascal Niggenkemper has focused on groove, rhythm with free passages in concise structures, and freedom in playing. In his band, he can rely on his long-time partner, the great drummer Gerald Cleaver, the highly creative keyboardist Liz Kosack, and the rising star of contemporary jazz, French saxophonist Sakina Abdou.
